Amazing Austrian summer holiday cottages and cosy winter chalets

Austria is a popular holiday destination for people who enjoy hiking, biking or skiing as it offers panoramic alpine views, spectacular scenery and plenty of clear, fresh air. You can find a large cultural and artistic scene with plenty of year-round activities spending your holiday in one of NOVASOL’s over 600 holiday lettings in Austria that are all fully furnished. Many of them have breath-taking views over the Austrian mountains, which make the perfect setting to enjoy unforgettable sunsets. Why not meet some of the friendly locals, go for long walks in the beautiful landscapes or visit some of Austria’s charming towns in the mountains that are in driving distance of our self-catering Austria accommodation. Explore the forest and Weinviertel, Burgenland or the Southern Alps during your holiday self-catering Austria.

Get around in Austria –Villas in Austria

Most of our customers prefer to hire a car in Austria as it is then so easy to reach our villas in Austria. You could also drive there directly or with a stopover in France or Germany, using one of the ferries. However, if you prefer to travel to your self-catering Austria accommodation by plane, it is good to know that the Austrian infrastructure is well-established. Most direct flights from the UK arrive in Vienna or Salzburg and from there; most of our Vienna apartments and other city apartments can be easily accessed. We recommend to either hire a car or to go by OEBB train, depending on the exact location when staying in our holiday lettings in Austria. Austria is also well-suited to getting around by bicycle, so if you would like to take things at your own pace, why not explore the landscape on two wheels?

Winter holidays in Austria

If you are a passionate skier or snowboarder, you may have spent some of your holidays in Austria already. There are numerous famous skiing areas that are situated close to our holiday homes in Austria which, of course, are also the perfect starting point for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or bobsledding. For those of you who are not so keen on outdoor winter sports, alternatively you could organise a day trip to one of Austria’s fantastic cities such as Salzburg or Vienna, taking in some Austrian culture and history as well as some beautiful architecture during your next self-catering Austria holiday. Or, why think about a city break and visit some of the great Christmas markets in Austria during your next winter holiday in Europe?

Austrian cuisine – Austria self-catering

There is more to Austrian cuisine than just the famous traditional Wiener Schnitzel and the so-called Sachertorte chocolate cake that many think of. There is a wide variety of cuisines and dishes on offer in Austria, just waiting for you to sample during your next self-catering holiday in Austria! During your holiday, you will find out that big breakfasts with traditional rolls - “Semmeln”, Kornspitz, spreads, different types of ham and cheese and soft-boiled eggs, accompanied by a Wiener Melange coffee are popular with Austrians – we would suggest trying this hearty and tasty way to start your day! Austria is a real melting pot of cultures, so there are restaurants in cities with cuisine from all over the world available in Austrian markets.
