Serra da Estrela

This mountain range is 2,000 meters high, the highest in the country and is especially known for its bizarre rock formations, such as 'Cabeça de Velha - Old woman's head, which actually resembles the head of an old woman.

Nazaré

This lovely coastal town, with its wide beach, hit headlines, as the highest wave ever recorded surfed by a human being, occurred here. But do not be afraid of this, because the best sandy beach lies in the shelter of the rocks. It not only makes Nazaré a place where you can enjoy the best waves in Europe but also an ideal destination for sun, sea and fun.

Fátima

As one of the largest pilgrimage sites in the world, there is no doubt that this is one of the most famous places in central Portugal. In 1917, Virgin Mary appeared for the first time for the three shepherds, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco.  Two years later, the local population built a small chapel on the site Mary had shown, and in 1930, the Roman Catholic Church officially authorized the worship of the Holy Virgin of Fátima. You do not have to be religious to be impressed by this famous place

Obidos

This picturesque little fortified city was a wedding gift from the 6th King of Portugal; Dom Dinis to his wife Isabel, back in the 12th century. Although it is a small town, it contains a relatively large amount of historical buildings and churches from that era.
