The story of Simrishamn

Originally the city belonged to Denmark, but after the Peace of Roskilde in 1658 the Danes had to evacuate southern Sweden. Although the inhabitants were assured in the peace treaty at that time of their rights and privileges, the Swedish culture and customs prevailed. Simrishamn and the population was now completely Swedish.

Other historic sites include the mystical Ales Stenar at Kåseberga, which is almost 70 meters long and 20 meters wide, making it one of the largest known stone settlements.
