Originally a farming and fishing town, Baska Voda is now a popular tourist destination due to its warm waters, beautiful beaches, natural environment and friendly culture. Baska Voda is situated at the foot of the Biokovo mountain on the western Makarska coastline in Dalmatia on the shores of the Adriatic sea about 10 kilometres northwest of Makarska.
Stay in one of our holiday rentals in Croatia and enjoy the Mediterranean climate and an average summer sea temperature of 25°C making Baska Voda a good place for swimming, water skiing, surfing or just sunbathing! You will also find lots of other popular sports and activities to enjoy your self-catering holidays in our accommodation in Croatia. As well as lovely beaches and pebble coves, the town is an interesting place with several historical sites including the Archaeological Museum and the Malacological Museum where you can see a fantastic display of shells from around the world’s seas and oceans. Some of the best archaeological sites from Roman times have been found in the area and the discoveries can be seen in the museum too. We have many lovely villas in Croatia for you to stay in.
Once you have walked around the town and visited the museums, there are plenty of restaurants and bars to try, serving lots of great local dishes and wines. Some of the best things to try include Biokovo Peka, Pasticada or the local fish specialties. The town of Baska Voda and its surrounding area is a great destination for a holiday in holiday homes in Croatia with the perfect combination of beaches, good climate, an interesting town and a National Park nearby.
There are plenty of day trips that you can take from your Croatia holiday apartments in Baska Voda including a visit to the Mount Biokovo National Park and the hillsides and mountains which are great for walking and hiking. There are also places to hire mountain bikes and you can try to reach the top of Mount Biokovo by following the trails. The mountain and the area around it are very beautiful but the best and safest way to discover it is to book one of the trips with an expert guide. From your villas in Croatia you can easily visit Split, Trogir and the islands of Hvar and Brac.
