Houstrup is peacefully situated near the North Sea, surrounded by dune plantations and pine woods with only a few kilometres to a wide, white beach. The perfect area for the family that is fond of beautiful walking trips in lush countryside.

Blabjerg dune plantation is located between the North Sea and the holiday cottage area in Houstrup. The plantation is named after the Blue Mountain which is the highest cliff in Denmark. Houstrup is the ideal place for the whole family to spend a relaxing holiday. Peaceful and undisturbed, it is situated close by the sea and beach. It is centrally located in relation to both the water park and many other activities in the area.

You can, for example, go to Nymindegab and visit the whale museum which exhibits a twelve-metre long sperm whale that got too close to the beach in 1990. A trip to the bird sanctuary, Tipperne, which lies at the foot of Ringkøbing Fjord is another possibility. It is rich in bird life here and the countryside is incredibly beautiful.

If you get tired of lying on the beach in Henne Strand, there are other places to go. Three kilometres away there is an eighteen-hole golf course, if this is your cup of “tee”. There is a good selection of restaurants and cafés in the holiday town, if spending your afternoons and evenings barbecuing in the garden isn’t exactly you.

There is also the possibility of going for a walk in Tipperne, a bird sanctuary, which is a resting area for thousands of waders, ducks and geese. In the more child-friendly area, there are plenty of activities by the beach such as mini golf and a water park.
