Endless beaches on the Costa de la Luz

There are plenty of beaches to choose from on the Costa de la Luz; so whether you are looking for golden sands, quiet coves or caves, there is something here for everyone. We have listed just a few of our favourite beaches to visit from holiday lettings in the area.

  • Bolonia Beach: One of the best rated beaches in Spain. Apartments nearby have easy access to the fine white sand, the clearest water and attractive dunes. Nearby there are several fine restaurants – perfect for a day out on self-catering holidays.

  • Mazagôn: Very family friendly beach with soft sand. The beach is easy to access and has plenty of facilities such as a toilet, shower, bar and car parking.

  • Playa de Valdevaquero: Superb beach for all types of water sports. Bring your surfboard from villas in Spain, or rent equipment at the beach. There are also toilets, showers, lifeguards and plenty of restaurants and bars as well as parking by the beach.

Spain self-catering

Explore nature – self-catering in Spain

Bring the whole family to the beautiful natural park of Marimas del Odiel where it is possible to, among other things, see pink flamingos. You can get around in the area by walking, by car (four-wheel drive) or by boat on organised trips. The Grazalema Natural Park is also worth a visit from Spanish villas, where the breathtaking limestone formations and the rich wildlife are a spectacle for both young and old. Here, there are plenty of hiking trails where you can find shade under the centuries old cork and oak trees. If you prefer your villa holidays in Spain to be a bit more relaxed, the region also has some fabulous golf courses for leisurely days in the sunshine.

Charming towns full of history

There are several interesting towns and cities on the Costa de la Luz and across Andalusia. Rent Spanish villas with NOVASOL and visit ancient city walls, medieval churches, Arab forts and glorious palaces. In the towns that dot the coast, you will find squares with small cafes where you can sit under the open sky and consider the local life. In the slightly larger cities such as Cadiz, the atmosphere is lively with street-side stools, energetic bars and plenty of holidaymakers. NOVASOL’s villas and apartments in Spain are positioned to let you get the most out of the local environment. Whether its nearby beaches, city squares or mountain hikes you are after, we have accommodation in Spain that will meet your needs.

Activities and attractions on the Costa de la Luz

Family holidays in Spain are a great way to unwind and have fun. On the Costa de la Luz, take an exciting train ride in the mining area at Museo Minero de Riotinto, which is reminiscent of scenes from cowboy movies with the steep slopes and deep gorges. The tour, in the ancient train, lasts approximately 1.5 hours and is a fabulous day out from self-catering apartments in Spain. Families can also get a truly unique experience in the big drip cave La Gruta de Maravillas, where the beautiful dripstone hangs like icecaps and a crystal clear lake in the middle of the cave contributes to the magic. With so much to see and do, the Costa de la Luz proves that you don’t have to travel to its busy neighbour, the Costa del Sol, to have a good time in southern Spain.
