The countryside in and around the town is beautiful with a varied landscape of sand dunes, plantations and the Hansted Reservation – the biggest wildlife refuge of the country of nearly 4,000 hectares. The reservation stretches from Klitmoller to Hanstholm and predominantly consists of heather and heaths.
