The wonderful beaches in themselves provide so much activity. Lovers of the ocean will enjoy plunging into the crystal clear waters, swimming, scuba-diving and snorkelling amongst other exciting activities like catamaran riding and jet skiing near your villas for rent in Spanish Catalonia. Culture vultures will not be short of things to do either with resources like the Museu Municipal, which is home to some incredibly valuable relics and items of local heritage right in the middle of Tossa. There are also the ruins of the 1757 San Vicente church and a Roman site with wonderful mosaics and evidence of an ancient swimming pool.
Food and wine in Tossa – Costa Brava villas
As a former fishing village and with its proximity to the bountiful Mediterranean, traditional cuisine in Tossa de Mar is geared towards fish and seafood dishes. The most typical dish for this area is a fish stew called Cim-i-Tomba, which includes peppers, mushrooms and potato. Flavourful Paella and Fideuá dishes can also be found almost everywhere near your cottages with hot tubs and villas for rent in Spain. Other Catalan specialties include boar cheeks, rabbit stew and even something as simple as Pa amb Tomaquet – fresh bread with olive oil, tomato and garlic.
