Things to do in la Matanza
La Matanza is a small rustic town where the locals enjoy a peaceful life and there are few tourists to be found. La Matanza is a nice place to visit for its authentic culture and local market where you can buy supplies if you are self-catering in Spain on the island of Tenerife. In the town of la Matanza you will find the Church of El Salvador which was originally built in 1695 and the Barrio de San Antonio, another chapel which is worth visiting. The coastline of La Matanza is very dramatic and there are a lot of cliffs but you will find some lovely swimming coves also known as Charco in Spanish. There are some nice seafood restaurants in La Matanza but if you are looking for more nightlife, then head to Puerto de la Cruz or relax in villas in Canary islands. If you are looking to be more active, then there are some excellent walking trails along the coast or in the hills nearby and one of the best ways to enjoy the beautiful landscape.
