Enekulla is situated in a beautiful area surrounded by rolling hills with beautiful beaches, lakes with plenty of fish and forests with abundant berries and mushrooms in the borderland between Östergötland's lowlands and Småland's deep forests. There are many historical places to visit, such as the rune stone in Rök, which is easily accessible by car. Per Brahe the Younger founded the town of Gränna on Lake Vättern and built Brahehus, among other things, both 20 minutes away by car.
Beautiful holiday home of a good standard situated on a higher ground with a view of the fish-rich lake Noen. The house is situated in a quiet, natural environment with small paths for walking and cycling. The nearest neighbour (permanent residence) is across the road, the surroundings are characterised by forests, meadows and pastures.
Lake Noen is a very beautiful bathing lake with a designated bathing area approx. 1 km from the holiday home near the local park. The lake is rich in pike, perch and white fish.
A nice short trip by boat across the lake about 1 km away is Brahälla, where Per Brahe the Younger once had his hunting lodge built. The ruins can also be reached by car and then by foot.
In the herb shop Krydderi Krokus about 5 km in the direction of Gränna you can have home cooking for lunch which is served in large portions. Here you will also find a large selection of herbs and tea.
There are several golf courses nearby, such as Viredaholm (11 km), Västanå (20 km) and Norraby (22 km).
Gränna is about 20 km away, a popular tourist destination known for its red and white candy canes and beautiful wooden houses. From Gränna you can take the ferry to Visingsö, an island in the centre of Vättern. Here you can visit the remains of Visingsborg and Näs slott, among other things. Sweden was ruled from Visingsö in the 12th and 13th centuries. On Visingsö you can hire bicycles or take a boat trip, the island can also be reached by car, but remember to book both the outward and return ferry journeys at the same time. North of Gränna is the old Riksettan, a beautiful nature trail with viewing points and sights such as the Omberg and the town of Vadstena.
The nearest town, Tranås, is about 20 kilometres away, where you can shop along the wide Storgatan, where almost all the shops are located. Tranås is located in beautiful Sommenbygd, where you can, for example, take a trip on the steamer Boxholm II on the beautiful Lake Sommen with its countless islands.
The next larger town, Jönköping, is approx. 50 km away and offers shopping centres, restaurants and museums in the direct vicinity of Vättern. Here you will also find the Elmiamesse trade fair centre and Axamo Airport.
For families with children, we recommend a day trip to Astrid Lindgren's Värld in Vimmerby.
