The beach has something to offer in every season: Be it the summer sun in the secluded dunes, the soothing sound of the waves or go searching in the sand for shells and beautiful stones. There are also great opportunities for coastal fishing here and the whole family will surely appreciate a dinner of freshly caught salmon, cod, plaice or hornfish. The Als Peninsula offers many historical sights in a small area, including some of Denmark's most famous castles and mills. For example, visit Augustenborg Castle. It was built in the 18th century and today contains an exhibition about the dramatic history of the castle and the ducal family. The castle also includes a beautiful castle park and a very pretty castle church, which is open to visitors.
