Wiek is located on the Wittow peninsula, which is on Germany's largest island, Rügen. Kitesurfing and the new trend sport of stand-up paddling can be learnt here, while the White Fleet passenger ships depart from Wiek Marina to the island of Hiddensee and the harbour festival attracts many guests in summer. A 6-hole golf course and a riding stable are in the immediate vicinity, beautiful beaches on the Schaabe or in Dranske are about 8-9 km away, and the famous Cape Arkona is about 10 kilometres away.
