Like many coastal towns in this area, Moraira has over the years from a small fishing village to an appealing holiday destination and retirement community. Especially if you’re bringing older members of your family, as the town in small and compact, with all low rise and easily accessible buildings.

The climate in the area is consistently sunny but never too hot, with the water breeze keeping the temperatures from getting too high. Our holiday villas in Moraira are a close walk or drive away from the many activities the town has to offer.
The Alicante area is well known for its wide variety of water sports and activities. Head over to Portet Cove – originally a safe haven for ships – for jet skiing and windsurfing. The beach next to the cove is cosy and well-maintained, with a bunch of restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and with paddle board and kayak rentals. The area also offers boat trips, so you can go out and enjoy the Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, you can find the Castillo de Moraira close by, a stone fortress built in the 18th-century. If you and your family enjoy golfing, you’ll be able to enjoy a game at the town’s three golf courses.
The town also boasts a local market – on Friday morning, make sure you make it in time to purchase fresh fruit, vegetables, and produce. Visiting our holiday villas in Moraira during the summer also gives you the opportunity to experience the town’s fiestas. Two of the most famous Moraira fiestas are the Moors and Christians fiesta, held during June each year, and the town fiestas, in July.
The Moors and Christians fiesta celebrates the expulsion of the Moors from Valencia by the Christians. To celebrate, local people dress in the finest costumes and there are parades through the streets, music by local bands, and fireworks.
