Santa Pola is a bustling town, full of life and activity with its main trade as a fishing town. This, of course, means you can enjoy the town’s beautiful marina, with its modern restaurants and lovely boats. Foodies visiting this part of Valencia will be in heaven here with the amount of fresh and delicious seafood on offer. Try the classic Spanish paella, black rice with squid and fish stew. You can even watch the fish coming in and being auctioned at the port every afternoon. If fish bears the stamp ‘Peix de Santa Pola’, you can tell it has been caught locally!

You can visit the fortress in the town centre; the aquarium, the funfair ‘Pola Park’ or one of the many museums, including the museum of Santa Pola’s fishing history. From the harbour, you can also make a boat trip to the nearby island of Tabarca with its stunning scenery.
